1940〜50年代のアメリカンスウェットに見られる、前後の襟元にV字ガゼットを備えたダブルVスウェットを背景にした一着。汗止めや伸縮補助という実用から生まれたディティールは、現在では古いスウェットを象徴する要素としてヴィンテージ市場で愛されている。

破れや摩耗を補修しながら着続けたリペアの痕跡、本来の色が判別しにくくなるほど進んだ褪色を大きな特徴としている。BOW WOWでは整い過ぎた復刻ではなく、持ち主の生活や用途が後から服に刻まれたような状態を先に想定し、その“時間の痕跡”まで含めて新品のプロダクトとして組み立てている。

元色が分からなくなるほど褪せた黄味のボディと補修跡を組み合わせ、古いスウェットで時折見つかる“色なのか汚れなのか判断できない”状態を意図的に作り込んでいる。

This piece is inspired by the “double-V” sweatshirts from the 1940s and 1950s, featuring V-shaped gussets at the front and back of the collar. Originally designed for practical purposes—such as preventing sweat from soaking through and aiding elasticity—these details are now cherished in the vintage market as iconic elements of classic sweatshirts.
Its defining features are the traces of repairs made as the garment was worn over time—mending tears and wear—and severe fading that makes it difficult to discern the original color. At BOW WOW, rather than creating a perfectly polished reissue, we envision a garment that appears as if the owner’s lifestyle and usage have been etched into it over time, and we assemble it as a brand-new product that incorporates even these “traces of time.”
By combining a yellowish body faded to the point where the original color is unrecognizable with repair marks, we intentionally recreate the look often found on old sweatshirts—where it’s hard to tell whether a mark is a stain or part of the fabric’s natural patina.
